I wrote a post for our new blog "Tablet in Healthcare" with 10 reasons why tablets will change healthcare. 2 important reasons below to get you curious and read all 10 reasons:

3. Portable

A tablet is often easier to carry in a hospital or to patients' homes, due to its shape and weight, than a laptop for example. The tablet can even be carried in the pocket of a white coat, depending on the type of coat and/or the type of tablet.

The portability makes it also easier to take the information to the patient instead of the patient to the information.

As opposed to laptops, tablets can also be used without putting them down somewhere. They are lightweight enough to hold with one hand and enter data with the other one.

6. Improved patient interaction

The flat and compact shape of the tablet makes interaction with the patient better and more fun. No screen or keyboard between the face of the specialist and the patient anymore. Watching and working on the tablet together creates team spirit.

Besides that, the specialist also has a better view on the patient and can possibly also notice certain signals from the patient which can be relevant for the treatment.
