Introduction
Everdune is an agile software company. We apply agile principles to all our work. This means that we prioritize all our work. This results in a sorted list or backlog. Agile also means that we work with iterations, each iteration being a fixed time period. At the beginning of an iteration we select the most valuable items from our prioritized list or backlog. This results in delivering the highest value items first. After each iteration we demonstrate the results. We also adjust the backlog by adding and removing items or reprioritize some items.
What is a Develoment TimeBox?
A Development TimeBox has a fixed duration in which we spend a fixed number of hours working for you. At the end of a Development TimeBox we always deliver a potentially shippable product. A Development TimeBox is in fact the iteration we talked about above.
How do we estimate a project?
We estimate a project based on the list of features you want us to implement. This list is typically the result of a Mobile Brainstorm workshop. Based on the total estimated effort we propose a duration and effort per Development TimeBox and the number of Development TimeBoxes.
What do we expect from you?
We expect a number of things from you and the most important are:
- Prioritize and maintain the list of features.
- Watch our demonstration of the results at the end of a Development TimeBox and give feedback.
- Explain the features when we select them at the beginning of a Development TimeBox.
Do you need to burn all Development TimeBoxes?
The answer is simple: "No, you don't". It is normal that during the project your view of the final product changes and you can be satisfied earlier than you thought before the project. As we are an agile software company we actually embrace this fact. Because you pay per Development TimeBox, you only have to pay the full fee per burned Develoment TimeBox. For the remaining Development TimeBoxes we only charge you a percentage of the full fee.
